Friday is my day: Idestudiet

Jaa
Ηello all! Today we travel to beautiful Denmark to meet Pia from Idestudiet! Enjoy the ride :)

6:00 am
Good morning! My name is Pia. I am a wire art artist and my studio is called Idestudiet. I live with my husband, our two boys and our dog in a small coastal town on the beautiful west cost of Denmark. Nature is wild and rough here - not to mention gorgeous! I am so happy to invite you to follow my day. It's 6 am and I just get up – a bit late for me. I love getting up at around 5:30 am or so. The house is so nice and quiet  – a great time to brainstorm and work on new ideas. The very first thing I do every morning – this morning was no exception – is to make coffee. I admit it. I am a coffee addict! I LOVE that first cup of coffee in the morning. One of the best times of the day – 75% of my designs are born before 11 am. Unfortunately – or maybe that’s actually good – my other half is the total opposite. He is a musician and he works best after 11 pm. Means more quiet time for me in the mornings!

6:15 am
I go to my studio to check ETSY, my website, my blog, my facebook page and of course my email to see if anything needs answer. {When did I become addicted to all of this??}

6:45 am
Time for my morning walk. I walk every morning for about half an hour with the oldest of my sons and our dog. I am so inspired by nature so our trips are a great source of inspiration – and a wonderful time to talk with my – way too fast – growing kid. We are so blessed to live in such a beautiful place – take a look.

7:25 am
We have breakfast and afterwards I go out in our backyard and pick some roses for my studio. I love roses and they seem to be pretty happy in my backyard this year so plenty to pick from.

8:45 am
We are all in vacation mode this week, so we have decided to take a trip to the beach to gather some driftwood for my sculptures. Well, my husband and I are looking for driftwood – the kids are more interested in playing in the weaves. But who can blame them?!

As you can see the summer here has been... well, not really that warm – and that’s putting it nicely!

12:30 pm
After lunch it’s time to visit my parents house and get some more wire for my sculptures. My parents have a farm and the majority of my wire comes from my dad’s meadow. Beautifully weathered as only Mother Nature can. I love the idea that my dad has used this wire and worked with it. And now it’s my turn to transform it into something lasting for someone to enjoy. Makes me feel very connected to my dad – and to nature.

We said hello to the cows when we were there. I often wonder – What goes through their heads? They always look like they are thinking; WHAT is she up to??  Ha… Maybe they are.

3:30 pm
We had some coffee and my mom's home baked cake and then my dad and my son practiced target shooting. My son won!

6:30 pm
Back home again. We decided to make it a pizza and salad night. After eating, the kids played for a while before we read stories.  Once they were in bed I started working on some sculptures. I have a big art show coming up and I also want to add more items to my etsy store. So although I LOVE having the kids at home it will be nice with some serious work time when they go back to school soon.

Looks kind of messy, I know. I am in the middle of several projects so cleaning will have to wait until they are done!

11:00 pm
What a gorgeous day it has been. Sunshine, blue water and clear skies. Oh, I love summer. Just wish we had had more of it this year!

Time for bed! Thanks for visiting my day. Hope yours were wonderful as well!

Blessings, Pia

Friday is my day: Softly Bear Paw

Jaa
Hello all! Today we are traveling to Lithuania to meet Simona from "SoftlyBearPaw"

Hallo everyone… My name is Simona from Softly Bear Paw. I am a freelance photographer. But when I need to rest a bit from photography I make little cute collectible teddy bears :)… I love when they get born in my hands and especially I love the moment when they find a new home. It would be very difficult to accommodate all them in our little home :) So today is my day and I will try to show you what usually I am busy with.

As every day I get up 8am in the morning… And our cat Tagg,  wakes up too and wash himself, like all our other family members :) No no we don’t use our tongue...

8:10 I wake up my younger one to prepare for kindergarten.

And we are leaving our home.
The elder daughter is in summer camp, so she won’t show up this time :)

8:45 I am back. I make some coffee and check my emails, etsy, FB and other stuff.

11:00 I am visiting my old friend. We have some coffee and talk a little bit... I couldn’t miss the moment when her younger boy took the headphones to listen music. So I took some shots.

13:00 I am back home, and have some time to sit and do some crafts.

17:00 I am having a photo shoot. This woman is very beautiful. And the sun is playing with the rays. To cach some sun flares I use an old Russian lens.

18:30 I meet my family and go for a walk in the old town. I take my vintage camera.

I know it looks funny, but next I am showing you the results of it :)  Not bad ah?... During the walk we had  dinner… Sorry but was too hungry to take a picture…

21:00 We are back home. My daughter went to sleep. And I sat down at the computer for retouching todays photos.

23:00  My husband is watching one of our favorite TV series. And off to bed…. Have a good sleep everyone…

Friday is my day: TikTak Things

Jaa
Hello all! Today we are traveling to Spain to meet Radka from "Tiktakthings"

Hello there! My name is Radka. I´m from Slovakia but now I live in the sunny southern Spain where I create my handmade clocks under name TikTak Things. I invite you to spend one day with me. Let´s go!

7:00 Good morning! The alarm of my cell phone is singing and it´s time to wake up and do some sports. I put my fitness outfit on and spend the next 30 minutes jumping in front of TV. Cardio, fitness workout with dumbbells or fitball pilates - that´s my morning menu. I love the feel of endorphins raising up to my head, it makes me feel good about myself and I start my day in a good mood. With this positive energy boost I almost forget that it´s so early in the morning (I loooove to sleep late when I can).

8:00 After a super fast shower I have a quick breakfast. In the summer I have usually my breakfast on the balcony watching people on the street hurrying up to work. The most important part of my morning meal is a coffee. I loooooove coffee. Black or latte, with no sugar, in a colorful mug. I´ll repeat my coffee ritual a couple of times throughout the day.

8:30 One last look at the clock on the wall and I´m off to my day job.

Around 17:00 I leave the office, put my helmet on and ride home on my bike. I use it everyday, I can´t image going to work other way. Recently I put a big bag on the back of the bike so I can go shopping as well. It´s pretty cool! I call it dog´s ears bag as it reminds me of a Basset. Each pocket hangs on one side of the back wheel the same way the bassets ears do on his head.

18:00 I get home, water the plants, check the cactuses and have a small snack.

Then I change my clothes for bikinis and head for a pool. We share a pool with the neighbors so I hope there´s not too many kids and I can swim. I really enjoy the underwater swimming, it´s so calm down there.  Such a small distance from the surface but it seems a totally different world. The real world and the voices from above sound so far, far away and I just don´t think about anything and relax concentrating on swimming.

19:30 I´m starving and it´s time for dinner. I prepare something fast like ham and eggs and eat it while checking e-mails. It´s now when the ”handmade” time begins.

21:30 I tranfer to my studio to finish some clocks. It´s always a mess. More I clean more things gather around and then I just make piles and move them from one table to another to get some space for work. I stopped pretending it will be cleaned up one day. It just won´t…

While the clocks are drying I finish the one I made the previous night. I put the clock hands where they belong and it´s ready to ship!

1:30 I renew some products on Etsy and I´m ready for bed. It´s been a long day. At least it´s Saturday tomorrow (or today in fact) and I can sleep as long as I want…Friday I´m in love…with the weekend!
The end.
Radka J
