Friday is my day: Vivianne Galli

Jaa
Remember when I found the well hugged looking Circus elephants by Vivianne Galli? Well, right after I had to ask her to join Friday is my day, just because I am sooo curious and because I love her little hairy friends. So let's travel to Netherlands and take a peek on Vivianne's day.
And after that you can go and lose your heart at her etsy shop :)

Good morning !It's about 8.30 and my husband Remco and our daughter Roos just left the house, he's the one bringing her to school every morning and I'm the one trying to get the two little ones in our house washed, dressed and ready for school. Remco always helps out besides getting him self ready for work. This particular morning, our son Robin had a school's day-off so he didn't need to be taken there, so me and Robin were taking it easy .... With the PJ's still comfy and warm, no hurries to get dressed quickly :-)

Today is a Wednesday and this will be "my day on Friday". My name is Inge Vivianne Galli, living together with Remco and our 4 year old daughter Roos, 2 year old son Robin, a very old dog called Morris and three cats. After waving my sweethearts goodbye, one of our cats.

Molly is eager to get in, i totally see my first opening photo opportunity here. I'm running to get the camera, so Molly needs to wait a bit, but she doesn't like it and that shows on her face!

I have a few nice household chores, so i gave Robin a jigsaw puzzle to keep him busy for a little while. He's a real puzzle wizard!

Running through the house kind of fast, cleaning up a bit and opening the windows for some nice fresh air! Unfortunately there's no spring in it just yet. Also rushing to take the garbage out, the garbage-men have the nasty habit of coming early when I'm late.

Starting to get time for a break now. When giving my little boy a hug, i notice that coffee needs to wait, because there's a certain smell hinting that I need to really .. really .. really.. need to change a diaper first ! While I'm at it, i decided to put some clothes on the little boy as well.

OK, time for coffee !!! Robin found something to play with again so I've a spare moment for reading email and peeking a bit at my Etsy shop and visiting a few blogs, see whats new. I use the small laptop on the kitchen table so I won't need to go upstairs.

In the mean time Robin is entertaining me on the guitar, my little puzzle wizard is a musical genius as well :-)

Need to make two little Ellie's ready to be shipped today, will have to wait until this afternoon cause laundry is waiting to be hanged :-)

Won't have time to work on any little mohair friends so my beloved Froggy needs to wait a bit longer for a new friend to come!

While I'm sorting and storing the laundry, Robin is letting me have a listen to his first early version of his new No.1 hit record .... Rockin' Robin !

Our laundry spot :-)

And out comes Rikkie, the washing machine must have woken him up ! He likes to take his naps somewhere in the Laundry area ! Rikkie is famous for being in front of the camera when he's not suppose to be :-)

While I'm doing dishes in our kitchen

Robin is cleaning the rest of our house firmly and of course he tells me how it's done!!

Time to take the dog for a walk ! Our 18 year old youngster needs a pee or two :-) He's not to happy with the weather as well!

Heading back home again as it's about time to pick up Roos from school so we are about to jump in my little car. Robin always falls a sleep during this "5 minute" rides to school, I'm sure he will do so again today :-)

Lunch time ! Roos and Robin really wanted to eat their lunch in front of the telly, watching their favorite called "Wallace and Gromit". Well, thats completely fine with me since I need the table anyway to wrap up the two tiny Elephants.

While wrapping my Ellie's Roos and Robin got pretty wild and started changing into little prince and princesses ! That means time for fruits to get some extra energy in. After all they need to be fit helping me getting the parcels to the post office :-)

It's almost 18.00 when we arrived home again, and we've got "Goulash" for dinner (i've hungarian roots, you know :-)
actually it's a leftover from yesterday, so luckily for mommy there's no cooking to be done today, yay ! Just gonna read the little ones a story instead until Remco comes home from work.

After dinner we tucked the kids in bed, and about 20.30 we're having time for ourselfs again. I took a shower and went upstairs to write this report and I finished it around 3 o'clock, phew. I've no idea how on earth I will be able to wake up in about four hours from now ....Just adding one last pic and then I'm of to bed, Remco is having a really bad cold and will probably stay in bed tomorrow so I will have to be the one bringing both kids to school.I sincerely hope you've enjoyed taking a glimpse at our lives over here in the Netherlands.

Friday is my day: Karuski

Jaa
Last week we were in Norway and we will stay in Scandinavia and meet Minna aka Karuski. She is a textile designer from Finland. She makes very sweet things; pouches, purse, handbags, jewelries...all with vintage touch.

Ah and did you know that Karuski means in one of the Finnish dialect sweet or candy?
How sweet!
:)

9.30 am
How nice and sunny day we'll have today! I'm about to get up. You see, I'm not an early bird. My boyfriend has left for work already but for me this is a normal time to wake up if there're no any scheduled things or errands to run earlier in the morning.

10 am

Breakfast, my favorite meal of the day! Today I'm going to have a nice cup of coffee with milk, rye bread with cheese, tomatoes and cucumber, glass of orange juice and my vitamin + omega3 pill. That's healthy, isn't it?

10.30 am

First things first: I need to check Etsy: FP, convos, EST thread. This is going to be a busy day with crafting and packing some orders for sales I have made this week!

11 am

I'm going to prepare a bunch of used bubble mailers so that I can re- use them. I love to upcycle about everything I can and this is a perfect way to create packages with a personal touch. And then to pack the orders!

12 am

Time to do some sewing. I usually make things in small series. Here are some ribbons for my Dahlia bracelets/necklaces and cut + reinforced fabrics for my frame pouches.

2 pm

I'm going to take a couple of pictures of my pouches I finished other day. Taking pictures requires quite a lot of time. Here you can see an example of these pouches. I hope to get them listed in my shop this weekend!

3 pm

Late lunch! I don't cook often during the week and today is not an exception. I'm having a sandwich with salmon and lettuce + green tea (and a couple of japanese candies for desert!).

3.30 pm

Off to PO! I love this basket which is a traditional Finnish craft. I use it for small grocery shopping as well.

I can see that it's not so cold outside, just a little less than -10 celsius. Perfect weather to take a walk to town. My home is located about 15 minutes walk from the centre.

4.45 pm

I'm back home. Look what mailman brought me today! This is a lovely print from LinogirlCeramics.etsy.com on Etsy. She even included some beautiful gift tags along the print. I love them! I need to find a suitable frame for this print soon.

I'm not very eager to take care of household duties! It's sort of easy when you don't have kids, I guess. At least I try to remember to water the plants once in a while (looks like this is due today)!

5.30 pm

I'm taking a look at some inspiring gardening books. Last time I went to library I found these, I enjoy reading them. We have a garden but I guess these books have helped me more with my art & craft projects... Hmm, should we get worried?! Every now and then I check my emails, Twitter, Facebook and EST thread of course...

7 pm

My boyfriend is coming home from work. Time for a small snack and coffee. This is a funny habit but we have a cup of coffee almost every evening around this time. Some say it's not good for you in the evening but I still have a lot of time before I go to bed!

It wont be before 2 am before I go to sleep. I'm going to spend time on Etsy, craft a bit, chat with my boyfriend, maybe even watch TV for a little while. I wish the days were longer. Thanks for taking a look into my day!

Friday is my day: Ingermaaike

Jaa
Hrrrrrrr. Get your warm winter clothes ready, we will jump up to north, to Norway and meet Inger from Ingermaaike. She makes lovely and warm felt accessories; scarves, wrist warmers, necklaces, flowers, bags...you name it and from her other shop you will find some whimsical felt animals. And lately she has been very busy with yarn spinning.
Have fun browsing on her shop!
And have lucky Friday 13th! :)

ingermaaike.etsy.com

7.40 and my alarm wakes me, I crawl out of bed to shower and then wake the boys

The beginning of my adventurous and very glamarous day up in Norway where we moved to this summer from Holland.
My chair has been vacated by the Bruce dog who uses it as his bedduring the night

And I plonk down into it with my coffee and start up my computer the say hello to the EST thread ladies and see if something has miraculously sold from my shop.

My hubby will have lit the fire before he has left for work

The boys leave for school at 8.30 and before they leave I check the temperature

They walk up our drive where the bus for school will pick them up.

Once they have gone the dogs will continue looking at me till

I let them out the door where they go for a run around in our garden while doing their buisness, of course we didn't do our dishes yesterday so they are patiently waiting for me..

Then it is time to do some work, I have a custom order for a bunch of flowers so I select my wool from the cupboard

and set to work at the desk that is overlooking the valley below

In the mean time the woodstove needs to be fed wood so that is a nice break from the endless jabbing the wool for flower making. After an hour or 2 I decide to go for a walk with the dogs, they love racing about in the fluffy snow and walking through it is great fun for me too.

The bread here in Norway is not quite my kind of bread so that means I make my own, today it has drooped over the edge of the form, njumm extra crust!

At 14.45 the boys arrive home and as it is too cold to play outside they first do homework and then read in the huge pile of comic books they have.

This is for me time to be spinning and I have started knitting a jumper from the wool I have spun.

My sweet hubby arrives home at 16.30 and I start preparing dinner, weeat early so the kids have time to watch some tv before heading off to bed.
In the evening I knit or spin some more keeping an eye on the EST thread while my hubby surfs the net and around 10 pm we head off for bed. Usually we watch a series or movie in bed before drifting off to sleep.

Tomorrow my day will be mainy the same again. Calm, quiet, silent with a bit of creating thrown in here and there.
