Jaa
Today we will meet sweet Devi from Germany. She has an etsy shop called glasfaden.etsy.com where she sells her pretty glass, felt and paper art pieces. But first let's follow her day and after that shopping :)

6:46 The garbage truck and neighbors are so loud! They wake me up, but I go back to my dream again, as I just have slept for 3 hours...7:30 My alarm clock is ringing (well, rather 'tüt tüüt tüüüt' than 'rrrrring'..). I stil feel like a zombie, so I snooze for a while before I finally get up

7:42 Preparing my breakfast in the kitchen. Then I take the beads out of the kiln (I don't know, how long I've been working on torch yesterday, but I've heard Down Below, back and forth a million times and was really in a great mood :)) and put them into a glass of water to make them easier to take off of the mandrels

7:45 Breakfasting in front of my laptop. Reading mails, browsing the blogs through my reader and take a peek, either it's time to grab a treasury - nope, I would be already at work *sigh*

Now I need a long and hot shower to make me feel less like a zombie.

9:37 Just had a phone call with my dad, took the beads off of the mandrels and cleaned the holes from the bead release using my grinder. No time to inspect the result closer though. It's time to get ready to work now.

I have to go earlier than usual today. I first ride to the culture center to pay the summer activity of my boy there and then off to the B&M store, where I work twice a week in the city10:44 It's only a step away from the city, so I still have time to take a quick view of the lake a bit closer.

Time to move on. I pass the theater studio. The windows are standing wide open, so I take a glaze. I love the atmosphere in such studios. The machines, the racks, the high ceiling.. OMG.. isn't the lamp stunning?!!

10:55 I was just opening the door, when the first customers were already coming in. Normally Mondays are quite quiet, not today it seems..I always take my doodle/sketch book with me. When all the work, e.g. dusting the shelves, is done and nobody is in the shop, I start to doodle or write. Today e.g. there was a woman, who looked very interesting to me in her profile and pose, so I simply have to sketch her after she's gone and no one else's around.

14:50 My boss finally sent me home, as I don't do it on my own *lol* I love to have customers, so I forget the time. From the bridge I can see the Alps.

15:11 At home I take a quick glaze on my garden. I have neglected it during the summer. I can't stand the sun burning my skin and also the mosquitoes love my blood, so I prefered to stay away from the garden. One rose plant is still blooming beautifully, but I really should cut all the other withered roses and weed again. The bind weed are taking overhand everywhere. Also in the back garden, where the zucchinis are growing very well. Maybe I still have a little time to weed later...

16:56 After checking the treasury opening time again (I could have a chance or two in the evening - yay!), I prepare two packages and take them to the post office.

17:10 Having a small talk with a neighbor and weeding a bit in the back garden.
17:22 'Franklin' (not sure if that's the cat's name, but that's how we call her/him - and I thought, it's a she, but I might be wrong..) runs towards me. I try to take a photo of us, but I should have lied on the grass, I suppose :P

17:25 She gets attracted by my backpack - sniffing at the skinny shawl my boy has made for me and then she decides to lie on my backpack *lol* She's so cute!!

17:50 High time to make dinner. It should be ready in 20 minutes, so I cook some pasta with yellow pepper, onion and tomato. Tataa...

18:29 Time to swing my back on the bike again to go to the choir session.
19:12 The room, where we normally sing, is a construction site at the moment. So, we first stay outside singing. We're preparing ourself for the concerts in December (it'll be our first tiny 'tour' - two concerts in Switzerland and one in Constance), so we practice the first Christmas song and another new song.
I ride home right after the session, as I don't want to miss grabbing a T or TW (what a freak! *lol*)
21:59 Sitting in the darkness, in front of the laptop again. I'll try to concentrate myself answering some mails and prepare the poster sketch before I grab a T, watch Dexter on TV (I think, I can only watch this series because I watch it on my B/W TV :)) and finally go to bed. My son will come back again tomorrow after having two weeks holiday with his father. So, I'll say goodnight now, even if I won't be in bed before 1am, I think.

Thank you for joining my day!

Friday is my day: Starrybluesky

Jaa
Exciting! Today we are lucky ducks and are invited to Scotland! We can follow Rhiannon's day in Edinburgh. She is a professional photographer and she runs an etsy shop called starrybluesky.etsy.com
After visiting her please go to her shop, you'll find something dreamy and pretty I am sure!
About 6.30 – far too early to get up so I have a cup of tea first . Bedside reading at the moment is Tallinn book ,for the last city in my “12 City Project”.

Quick look out of the window. It’s been raining overnight but has stopped. Last summer and this summer have been so rainy that even a dry day seems like a bonus.

I’m going for a swim before doing any work , so just a banana for breakfast – well ,along with another cup of tea.

Finish my tea while having a quick check on my Etsy shop

Finally ready to face the world – just leaving to go to swimming pool.

On the way to the swimming pool – It is the other side of town but usually I’d walk there. Have so much to do today that I decide to get the bus. Also think it might be good to get a photo from the top deck. Realise that photos taken from moving bus usually blurry and worthless. Try anyway. Get blurry photos.

From pool walk down the Royal Mile to studio space. Have to check on my stock for exhibition next week. These are the biggest framed Polaroids I’ve done so far.

Now I have to walk home. Its August and right in the middle of the Edinburgh festival. The Royal Mile is absolutely jam packed with performers and tourists. Usually if I wanted to actually get home a bit quicker I’d take a parallel street, the Cowgate, or walk via the New Town. But I wanted to let you have a glimpse of the festival , so I bravely marched up the hill.
Bottom left is a view of the whole street with St Giles in the background. Top left and bottom right – fairly normal outfits for August in Edinburgh. Yes, that lady has got an origami bird for a hat. The musicians were making a good sound – I was intrigued by the wok type drum.

Past the castle at the top of the Royal Mile and another 15 mins or so to get home passing all of these places on the way. The street is William Street and one of my favourites.

My goodness, still only lunchtime. Cup of tea and a duck wrap for lunch. I can see I’m drinking far too much tea here !

Time to do a bit of work at the “card factory” I’m preparing a batch of cards to take to the exhibition. They are rather labour intensive but I know it will be good to have some for sale there.

I’ve been so busy ( or away) that I haven’t gone to much at the festival this year.
( Apart from Alicia Devine;s wonderful “Loving Burns) But today I’m going to a talk at 5pm given by Silviu Purcarete. He’s a very well known Romanian director whose production of Oresteia made a big impression on me a few years ago. I often find these “artist’s talks “ amongst the most interesting parts of the festival.

But on the way there I am in plenty of time so I have a cappuccino at my favourite Italian café. And its even sunny so I can sit outside.

Talk was interesting. The audience was equally interesting - full of people showing each other scripts and saying we absolutely MUST have so and so bring this to New York.. There were so many men in rumpled linen suits it almost looked like a uniform.

Home again and time for tea ( what Scots call their evening meal and not yet another cuppa ! ). Its just me today, so I whip up a quick omelette wrap with avocado and smoked salmon and a little bit of salad to go with it. Strawberries for after.
. A little more work on the cards and then its time for a final check in with the virtual world with a nice glass of wine and then bed.

Goodnight .

I am Britta living in Sweden. This week I have left Stockholm for to spend some day´s in our summerhouse. Here I am with with my partner Gunnar.

8.oo
I woke up around 8 o´clock. It is a cloudy but very warm day in August. We are eating breakfast outside of course, a bowl of yogurt with cereals and some strawberries and a cup of
tea. Our view from the breakfast table is adorable we are starring right out over the Baltic sea. I have been running around on this little tiny village every summer since childhood, I know every stone and path. I love to be here in my paradise of earth.
Earlier it was an fisher village, now a days mostly summer guests.

10.00
It´s always a lot to work with here, I´m cutting bushes and grass. This year it has been plenty of strawberries and I pick some of the last ones. I also pick some rhubarbs for to make an pie.

12.30

Time for a little lunch break, we are having some sandwiches, fruits and tea for me and coffee for Gunnar.

14.00

The rhubarb pie is ready and I was going to take a picture, but WWWWHAT someone already taken a bit, GGGGGGGGGGunnnar.........
A constructing project is going on we shall build an veranda and a steam shovel is here to make the ground. We are drinking coffee and rhubarb pie with the shovelman.

15.30

We take a walking trough the forest to the sandy beach.

17.00
I have been study art and crafts orientating towards textile. I have been lucky to work with that through my life.I never regret that choice it have not made me rich but happy. Of course I have had many times of moaning not earning enough money and working with boring job just for money.
I have my own little space for creating and other on going projects. I have a loom here and are weaving some rug carpets.
Some years ago I went to classes for to learn computer programs. I found it so fascinating and fun so if I had been younger I really wanted to make it to my profession. Here is my site
http://www.brittaberg.se/ Since I discovered Etsy I am even more addicted to the computer.
I have been outside all day now I really long for to connect the computer and see what is going on on etsy!!!!!

I start to make some moss bristles.

18.30
But first the dinner needs to be prepared.I am making an salad, tsatziki and Gunnar is boiling some fresh potatoes and fryeing some meat.
We are eating inside it have turned a bit cold and the ants are irritating.

20.00
Dinner is over and it´s ETSY time.
We have no telly here just an radio and lot s of books.
23.00
These evenings in August is going very dark, compared to June when its daylight all the time. I am looking out over the Baltic sea and thinking over there far away is Finland and the rest of Europe Good night to you al Dear friends it´s so nice to have meet you all.
