Friday is my day: Yaelfran

Jaa
I think everybody in "Etsyland" knows lovely Yaelfran from Argentina, or at least we know her lovely little creatures which appear in jewelleries, collages, prints, zines or even coasters. Now we can meet her really. Really really :)
Have fun browsing her cute shop!

We are on holidays right now, but I still wake up early.
I have breakfast... always, the same:
café con leche, toasts and cream cheese.

Then, I am ready to check out my store at Etsy,
my Flickr, my Blog, my Facebook (wow! too much to check out)

If I have sold items, so I package them to be ready at morning,
to go to the post office.
These days, there were a lot of sales!! Specially rub ons.

As the children finish the school, I have lunch with them.
Today, special dessert:

I took Ema (10 years old) to her friend’s house.

As I have less work too, I’ve been attending a workshop,
with Martin Kovensky, a great artist from my country. It was wonderful.

One of my productions (circus collage) during the workshop

From home, I can see the pool is empty! I want to go there, here’s hot!!
So, I go for a fresh swim, with my mate, of course!

My husband come back from work at 20.30 hs. He’s an engineer.
Then we have the four (Dad, Ian, Ema and me), our dinner.
What I can cook today? (I am not that sort of woman who stay at home
cooking and waiting for husband with the dinner ready.
I am asking myself the same question everyday!!!
But, the question come to my mind too late!!!
Almost nothing in the fridge.
Ok... pasta today!

Everyone helps with cooking, and also when we finish.
Late at night we LOVE to lay in my bed (again the four of us), watch TV and eat chocolate.

Milk&cookies to all!
Have a good weekend :)

6:20

Dear old Ericsson phone starts ringing trying to wake me. Fat chance. After few more attempts I’m finally up at about

6:40

Quick freshening up in bathroom…

… and straight to the kitchen. My brain is still asleep but body acts on well-trained automatic-mode: two coffees, muesli for daughter, sandwiches for hubby, kitekat for cats, light the wooden stove in kitchen, another one in living-room and so on.

7:40

Husband and oldest daughter have left the building.

It’s getting lighther outside and looking out of kitchen window I discover this:

Results of the snow storm.

For a change my two youngest ones are still asleep and I can have my C&C breakfast. 10 years ago that would’ve stand for „coffee and ciggie“, but nowadays it’s „coffee and crochet“:

8:40

Youngsters are up. It’s time to start moving. As I rise my eyes from hook and thread I notice this:

9:45

Better now. Rush hour of cleaning is over and kids are having a breakfast. I pass on the oatmeal porridge and fix myself a nice sandwich with cheese and tomatoes.

10:00

Time to treat myself with some caffe latte and bit more poppy-crocheting.

Finally I shape the flowers and paint the heart black

11:00

Time for a photoshoot. There are several scarves and necklaces waiting.

Make-up artist covers the poor girl with tons of make-up, hairdresser pulls on her hair and after approximately 2 hours everything is ready for shooting. Here we go:

12:00

Housewife and her crew are getting dressed and about to go out.

No swinging today, instead we go sledging.

14:00

Back home. Youngest babe falls asleep on my shoulder.

Then there are tons of snowy things waiting to be hung somewhere. And laundry. And cats. And some snacks for kids who are up again. And uploading the picks which leads to some internet and then some more and then the alarm goes off telling me it’s time to throw kids into car and go meet the oldest one at schoolbus station.

15:55

As I’m waiting for the bus I also check our snail-mail box, alas probably because of ice it doesn’t open and no mail for today.

16:15

Back home after dropping off 2 other boys from our village.

Cooking spaghetti for us.

17:00

Bon appetit!

18: 00

I try to squeeze in some scarf-crocheting but with no luck this time as someone just keeps bouncing on and off me.

Instead we go and bake the apple crumble cake. And top it with whipped cream.

Somewhere in between husband arrives. We continue hanging out in kitchen with some hot beer with honey (and touch of ginger in mine).

20:45

I start preparing kids for bed. Which ends only with tiny little bit of yelling today. Good! J

21:15

Bedtime story

21:45

I pick up where I left earlier

Rather tired and call it a night around 23:30

Sweet dreams!

Soft and warm weekend to everybody! :)

Jaa
Tooot toooot! Let's go to Greece and meet Anna. Or Lila...Which one was it..?Anyways, she has two shops on etsy annarubyking with sweet cards and paper goods and lilarubyking with cute and whimsical jewellery. I really recommend to take a peek on both of them!

(Click any picture to go to shops)

10:30.

I start my day with a glass of water and turn on the computer. It’s sunny, so I put on a load of washing. I turn on CNN and visit my Etsy shop. For the next half hour or so I answer convos, check my emails, chat with some friends at the European Street Team, read some other sites and blogs (most importantly: the Rainforest Site –must go everyday! www.therainforestsite.com

11:00

Getting a bit hungry, so time for my breakfast/brunch smoothie. Do you want the recipe? One banana, plus about a handful of frozen blueberries, a couple of big spoonfuls of yoghurt, some milk and some honey. Then blend it all together till it’s a pretty purple colour. Delicious! I have this every day! After this, I hang out my washing, get changed and do I little tidying.

While it’s early and the sun is still good I photograph some of the items I finished making yesterday, some earrings and some bird pins. This time of year the best place for this is on my bed.

11:30

I start setting up in my studio for the days work, coat some mandrels and tidy up from previous days work.My mum calls from Australia to tell me about a two faced kitten that was born in my home town. I miss all the good stuff since I left Australia!

12:00

I edit the photos that I took earlier and list them in my Etsy shops.
I also notice that the treasury will be opening up shortly, so I fill up my poster sketch and watch the countdown with a bowl of cereal. I never really know what to have for lunch, so I just tend to graze during the day. Lately I’ve been grazing on cereal.

While I’m waiting I pack up an order – some of my little sparrow pins are off to America- how exciting!

1:30

My treasury is caught and filled, so back to the studio.

Yesterday I constructed 5 pairs of my line studs, so today I need to finish them off. They all need to have their edges nicely neatened and then I paint on the chemical that blackens the little embossed lines. They need to sit like this to get nice and black for a little while, then the residue gets washed off, and I sand back the silver to create a nice surface. Yay, finished and packed away.

3:10

Some more cereal to keep me going, now I’m going to have a bit of a break and cut out some of my birds while watching an episode of Survivor. I love it, I don’t care what you think.

A few hours of bird cutting later, I lay them all out on my cutting board to get ready to make some more Birds in Lines artworks, some ACEOs and one or two full sized pieces. I always try and make a few of something at a time, it saves on time and also because I am short on space it saves me setting up and packing up so often!

6:30ish

I bring in my washing and start cooking dinner. Tonight I’m making spaghetti with a tomato sauce. This is one of my favorite meals, and it’s super quick and easy to cook so I end up making it at least once a week (I could really eat pasta every day! I love it!)

7:00

Husband is finally home from work, we eat dinner and watch some tv, chat about some random stuff like Citibank maybe being sold, two faced kittens…

I have a shower and tidy up some of my mess (I am responsible for about 80% of the mess in our house.)

A bit later I spread my supplies out further across the kitchen table, glue some pins to the backs of some sparrows so they can set overnight, and get back to making some more stuff with my fabric birds.
12:30
One last check of my Etsy shops, a little bit more chatting at the EST, answer any new emails and messages. The computer gets turned off, and I head to bed to read until about 1:30, lights out!
